It was 45º and darn cold! I wonder if his internal thermostat is wacky.<br /><br />Dante is about eleven years old and has been Feline Leukemia positive since birth. He originally lived with a girl in Boston named Jen, when she went to London, he came to live with me.<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ILiJ91yGBwU/Rg6CNkL3GyI/AAAAAAAAAAU/hVC_D5vl_ew/s1600-h/000_1901.JPG"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0; cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ILiJ91yGBwU/Rg6CNkL3GyI/AAAAAAAAAAU/hVC_D5vl_ew/s320/000_1901.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5048115401892240162" /></a> No one expected Dante to live this long and he's been seriously healthy for the last eight years. In January, he started losing weight, but not enough to alarm us. He was still very active and playful. He got a bump on his head that looked like a papiloma warty thing and he seemed to look thinner, so he went to the vet last Tuesday. He was down to 9 pounds! He was 15 pounds in December. His mild murmur was now a grade III murmur and the vet suspected three things, all curable: thyroid, diabetes or anemia. He wanted nothing to do with us and stayed in the basement on Rich's Mustang. We brought him food and water -he would act excited but after one bite, would go lie down again. He ate a little but then started crying. Dante is such a large part of our lives. Now, his heart is failing and the loss looms over us.
